As regards the paragraphs headed "Vacation" and "Leave", I am to explain that should a master be granted leave immediately after a School vacation, the amount of that vacation will be deducted from the three months full pay referred to in the paragraph as to leave. Though a master is said to be "entitled" to leave after six years service, the grant of leave is always subject to the exigencies of the public service and no officer can claim it as a right.
3. You are to understand that your employment will be under the Colonial Government, that your emoluments will be paid solely from the funds of the Colony; and that the appointment will be subject to the Colonial Regulations in force for the time being, which are published in the annual "Colonial Office List", and can also be consulted in this Office.
